I love movie magazines. My first real introduction to independent publishing came via Little White Lies, as a reader and then as a contributor, and while I haven’t written for them for a long time, I’m still a big fan of their brilliant illustration-led perspective on cinema.

In those early days, Little White Lies and Electric Sheep (sadly long since departed) were the only independent cinema magazines I could find, but these days there’s a great selection of titles out there, each one finding its own way of converting light on screen into ink on paper. And for our next Stack Live event on Tuesday 28 March we’re bringing five of them together in the basement of The Book Club in London for an evening of movies and independent print.

Come along to hear from:

David Jenkins, editor of Little White Lies
Ben Smith, editor of Shelf Heroes
Davide Cazzaro, editor-in-chief of Nang (video presentation)
Giovanni Marchini Camia, editor of Fireflies
Phil Wrigglesworth & Gabriel Solomons, editor and art director of Beneficial Shock

It’s going to be a great night of geeking out at movies and magazines, and I’m especially excited that we’re flying Giovanni over from Berlin to join us. That’s possible thanks to the support of Park Communications, who will also be there on the night with their mega magazine rack full of independent titles for you to flick through and fondle.

Tickets cost just £6 and are available now from our Eventbrite page. See you there!
