Illustration plays an essential role in many magazines, and for the next Printout we’re bringing together a handful of illustrators and magazine makers to dig down into the inner workings of their creative partnerships. In each case we’ll select one recent piece of illustration, and they’ll reveal how it came about, from initial idea through sketches and drafts to the finished positioning on the page.
