This is strange. Stack has always been a one-man band, but I’m finally at the point where that needs to change. The business has grown fast since I went full-time last year, and I’m now hiring employee number one.

I’m looking for a full-time editor to help take Stack to the next stage. It goes without saying that the most important qualification for the job is a passion for independent magazines – I need somebody who knows the independent scene inside out, and who is able to communicate that passion to a wide audience. They will be an excellent writer and editor, and will be full of ideas for how the content produced by Stack can be improved and amplified.

But I’m not just looking for somebody to run the blog. I need someone who will get out and about, running events, representing Stack and helping to come up with ideas for how the service can keep on working better for magazine lovers. The job will be full-time, based in London, and pays £23,000 per year.

If you think you could be the person I’m looking for, I’d love to hear from you. Please email me with your CV, a covering letter, and your short (maximum 200-word) answer to the following question: Which magazine not currently available on Stack should be added to the service?

The deadline for applications is Friday 17 July, and I’ll be in touch soon after that to arrange interviews with shortlisted candidates.

Eek.
