Update

It’s been a couple of months since the last top 10 list of magazine covers, judged according to the number of likes on Instagram. As before, I’m at pains to point out that this is not a scientifically rigorous list – as my Instagram feed gets more followers there are more people to vote for the magazines and so higher overall counts, but there are still some interesting insights to pull out of this top 10.

For example Cereal is nestled in at third place, despite the fact it was posted way back at the start of March. Their simple, minimalist aesthetic has proven to be wildly popular all around the world, and I’m expecting it to hang around in the top 10 for a while yet.

And of course it’s never too late to go back and vote up your favourites – get in there and get liking!

10. Port
This excellent Sam Rockwell cover is chock full of personality, elevated by the stylish colour transition. Lovely stuff.

09. So Young
Bright, bold and currently selling out of their last few print copies, issue three of So Young wears its zine inspiration on its sleeve.

08. Fin
A Norwegian magazine dedicated to profiling Norwegian artists, Fin shows how propaganda should be done.

07. Eye
The food special from Eye magazine is a fantastic read, and it looks pretty good too, thanks to one well-placed Tunnock’s Tea Cake.

06. Delayed Gratification
One of my absolute favourite magazines at the moment, this latest cover from Delayed Gratification is its strongest so far (even when photographed on a fake wood diner table).

05. The Gentlewoman
Big red. The Gentlewoman’s take on Vivienne Westwood is a show-stopping example of excellent cover art.

04. Cold North
For a new launch to make it into the top five is quite an achievement – people loved the simple illustrative style of Cold North.

03. Cereal
Here it is – the cover that pulled in almost 100 likes way back at the start of March. Cereal’s take on Paris makes for an ethereal, otherworldly cover.

02. Boat
The travel magazine adds a touch of fashion to the mix, with this relaunch issue, based in Lima in Peru.

01. Noble Rot
With a winning combination of wine, food and music held within a massive Jagger-esque mouth, Noble Rot is a worthy winner at this stage of the year. Watch out for another top 10 update towards the end of June.
