Architecture

A strange and lovely publishing project by creative director and image-maker Jethro Marshall, Rocky tells the story of bricks, and the quarries they come from. In the foreword, we are told that there is another way to look at the city, one that acknowledges the stories of matter: “Look closer and you can see the history of the stone itself — fossils, geology, the solidified strata laid down on the ancient seabed, bubbles and veins produced by the cooling of the earth. There’s geology in the architecture. Cosmology even.” See our video review for some truly stunning pictures of rocks.
