The renowned ‘everyday life interiors magazine’, Apartamento consistently ranks as one of the most popular and best-known independent magazines in the world.

But their sparing use of social media means that relatively little is known about the creative process behind this fantastic title. So this week we’re very excited to present a brief glimpse behind the scenes, as co-founder Omar Sosa reflects on the making of issue 16.

Some videos that Rainer Judd made and Xavier Corberó’s amazing video that Albert Moya made for Nowness.

The house … is a hidden underground refuge, without windows, lit by means of a large skylight … A home that penetrates the depths of the Earth, one that he dubbed “El Rascainfiernos”, or the “Hellscraper”. An interview on the home of Spanish architect Fernando Higueras (Madrid, 1930–2008) with Lola Botia and José Manuel Ábalos by Arquitectura-G. Photos by Nacho Alegre. Above is an archival image of the house courtesy of the Fernando Higueras Foundation. Featured in Apartamento Magazine issue 16, on sale now! @arquitecturag @nachoalegre #apartamentomagazine

Were excited about
Experimenting with new formats for stories. Like our story about Donald Judd’s ranches in Marfa, Texas and his everyday objects – it’s the longest feature we’ve ever published.
