The June delivery is going out to subscribers today and it’s another title new to the Stack stable, so watch out for a surprise arriving in time for the weekend if you’re in the UK, or soon after depending on where else in the world you are.

We sent out a few old favourites at the start of the year but we’ve been pushing new titles for the last couple of months, so I’m very pleased to announce that Intern has become the latest magazine to sign up as a Stack title.

Issue one was a hugely impressive debut, coming off the back of a Kickstarter campaign that drew attention to the sheer number of people who work for free in the creative industries. A magazine made by interns (with a junior editor who’s still doing his A-levels no less!) it showcases the outstanding work being done by up and coming talent, while shining a light on the fact that so many people are expected to work for so little.

This is no whinge fest, though. As editor-in-chief Alec Dudson says in his Stack interview, the aim of the magazine is to support “an accessible, approachable debate on internships”, so while they’re alert to the dangers of exploitation, they also champion the best type of work experience, when young talent and aged experience come together and learn from one another.

It made for a fantastic read in issue one, and with an extended editorial now in place, issue two is looking like it’s going to be even stronger. Stack subscribers should keep an eye open for it arriving imminently…
