Well, here we are, December 20 – the day our competition caught up with real life and the final day of voting in our monthly heats. As a great philosopher once said, “It’s been emotional.” With the end drawing ever-closer, then, it’s only fitting that our penultimate winner should be something of an elegy: congratulations to Ordinary magazine and its photographic swan song for the plastic straw.

And congratulations to our latest subscription winner, Patrice: if you’re that excited about the idea of a free straw, we imagine you’ll be ecstatic about the free Stack subscription.

Today, for the last time in 2018, we’ll be publishing the three most popular covers from each month of the year, according to likes on the Stack Instagram feed, and asking you to vote for your favourite. On 21 December, we’ll put all the monthly winners up against each other to decide 2018’s champion of champions. With the top title revealed on Christmas Eve, it’s also your chance to win a free Stack subscription for your trouble! Call it an early Christmas present, courtesy of Stack.

Check our Twitter and Instagram feeds today for your chance to weigh in. The voting ends at midnight tonight, and tomorrow morning we’ll pick one person to win a year’s subscription to Stack — so remember to check back!

Choose your favourite cover for December…

With their inaugural offer taking home Launch of the Year at the Stack Awards 2018, @suspiramagazine’s follow-up “Fetish” issue is another bleak and beautiful contribution to the powerful horror/feminism canon they’re so quickly establishing. Sex, death, leather — what more could you ask for?

The new @broccoli_mag is here and the cover is a hazy fever dream beyond the scope of anything Lewis Carroll could have devised. The more you look, the more you see — a veritable cornucopia of cannabis-themed creativity.
