We delivered Fare magazine to our subscribers this month, and we’ve received lots of messages from people telling us how much they enjoyed receiving it. The popularity isn’t surprising – food and travel magazines are both strong genres of magazine publishing, and Fare combines the two by setting off for a different city each issue and reporting on the food culture it finds there.

This fifth issue took the team to Glasgow, which is also the adopted home of editor Ben Mervis, and the result is a beautifully affectionate portrait of the city, its people and of course its food. Take a look at the video above to see some of the lovely restaurants and producers profiled, as well as more eccentric individuals who lend a particular sense of Glaswegian charm, and a set of illustrations that pay homage to some of Scotland’s most popular (and decidedly non-gastro) food and drink brands.

We’ll be delivering something totally different next month, and if you’re not already a subscriber we’d love to add you to our list. Sign up and you could receive our selection of magazines from just £7/€15/$15 per month, including delivery. (Fare costs £12 in the shops, and the average price of our magazines is even higher, so Stack makes for good value!)

Or if you really hate spending money, join us on Thursday 1 August for a free party at the Ace Hotel London celebrating this latest issue of Fare. Reserve your ticket via the Ace Hotel site and we’ll see you there…
