There’s a new wine magazine in town, and Above Sea Level differentiates itself from the rest by introducing travel to the editorial mix. For this first issue they headed off to California, reporting on the wines produced there, but also introducing readers to the landscapes, characters and conditions that help to define Californian wine.

Of course that can only ever deliver a snapshot, but I really enjoyed the open, accessible approach, which gives the reader a sense of Californian wine rather than reaching for the specifics of tasting notes and rating scales. Take a look at the video below to see inside for yourself, and if you like what you see, follow the link above to pick up your own copy of Above Sea Level magazine. I’m looking forward to seeing where this one goes next (literally).
