Tom Preece is one of the founding editors of Yuck, the Manchester-based music magazine that released its fifth issue this summer. I’ve been a fan of Yuck since I picked up their third issue last year, in the depths of the lockdown here in London, and at that point the magazine functioned as a sort of reminder of what it was like back when we could go out and see live music – it felt somehow hopeful that people were still thinking about that.

As I record this things are opening up more here in the UK, and I was excited to hear about how that’s changing the scope of what Yuck can do, including planning for their first live event next month, and increasing the size and ambition of the magazine itself. We’ve got copies of Yuck available to buy in the Stack shop, so if you like the sound of what they’re doing, head over there to see issues three, four and five in more detail. And we’ve got another music magazine coming up on the podcast in a couple of weeks (but of course a very different one) so if you want to make sure you here that, please follow us wherever you get your podcasts and we’ll deliver all our future episodes to you as soon as they’re ready.
