There’s a simple joy that shines off the pages of Four & Sons magazine, the Melbourne-based title that fills its pages with dogs and their owners. A large part of that feeling comes from the photography in the magazine, which every issue manages to feel fresh and unaffected, communicating a real sense of the fun that comes from living with dogs.

Marta Roca, the magazine’s editor and creative director, dropped into the Stack office when she was in London earlier this summer, and explained that her approach is all about surprise: “You have to be ready for the unexpected… Because you’re not going to be rational with a dog.” I think you can hear in her voice the love and passion she has for her subject, and all of that flows out onto the pages of this lovely magazine.

We delivered this latest issue to Stack subscribers in July this year, so if you’re a Stack subscriber you’ll probably already have held this one in your hands. If you’re not a subscriber yet, take a look at the pictures below for a few select spreads from the issue, and of course you should subscribe to receive our special surprise deliveries every month! Or if you just really want to buy this issue of Four & Sons, you can pick one up from the Stack shop while we still have copies left.
