“A paper Monument for Dutch fashion design around the turn of the century,” Monument focuses on the Dutch designers who were part of the 1998 ‘Dutch wave’, looking back at their emergence and the impact of their work. Each issue is dedicated to a single designer or label, enabling the contributors to go deep on their subject, alongside playful and provocative graphic design. This second issue focuses on Michiel Keuper and Francisco van Benthum, who worked together as Keupr/van Bentm.

In this issue:

  • Original images from Keupr/van Bentm’s archive
  • Conversations between Mary-Lou Berkulin and Keupr/van Bentm, supplemented with quotes and texts from articles from the designer’s archive
  • ‘Fashion at the fringes of Paris Fashion Week’, a longread by Australian fashion researcher Laura Gardner
  • Contemporary photography and collages by Roos Quakernaat
