You don’t mess with the Latvians.

That’s what I learned from yesterday’s cover competition, which was flooded with votes for the hairy enigma that is Benji Knewman. Congratulations to them, and also to Alex Maxwell, who wins a free year’s subscription to Stack for the honesty of his vote:

For the record, Alex, the cover seems to be some kind of mountainside, obscured by strips of white with a debossed masthead. Lovely stuff. I’ll be in touch today to organise your subscription.

And so now, for one final time, we’re asking you to vote for your favourite cover of the month. Take a look at the three below, tweet the name of your favourite with the hashtag #cover2014 before midnight tonight, and we’ll count them up and announce the winners tomorrow morning. Good luck!

Yesterday's @dg_quarterly cover blew minds, but I'm predicting that today's treat from @cerealmag is going to ascend to new levels of cover appreciation. Love the desolation of this winter special.

A woozy, fuzzed out start to the short week before Christmas, courtesy of The Plant Journal. No poinsettias here, thanks.

Another blistering piece of publishing out of Australia, @futureperfectmag has joined the likes of @weaponsofreason and @dg_quarterly to take a slow, considered look at the world. In this issue that means asylum seekers, ISIS and "mind-bending mathematics". Love it.

Once you’ve chosen your favourite, tweet your vote to @stackmagazines with the hashtag #cover2014 and you could win a year of independent magazines in 2015.

And don’t forget you can still give Stack for Christmas. All gift subscribers get an e-card to send to their recipient, so it’s never too late to give Stack.
