Update

This is exciting. Sampler launched this morning and it’s off to a flying start. If you haven’t already seen it, check out the launch post to see what Sampler is all about and to sign up for our special offers.

I’ve lined up an outstanding group of independent magazines to be part of Sampler and I’ll be announcing them in alphabetical order over the coming week. And I’m including videos wherever possible, so you’ll have something to watch while you eat your sandwiches / breakfast / midnight snack, depending on where in the world you are. Enjoy!

Here’s the first batch, running from A to B and giving you just a taste of the quality and variety to come from Sampler.

A New Type of Imprint

A-New-Type-of-Imprint-3

A beautifully crafted creative lifestyle magazine all the way from Norway (but entirely in English) A New Type of Imprint explores the world of design from a Nordic perspective.

Acid

Acid

A surf magazine from Spain (but again, all in English) Acid rejects the usual surfer stereotypes to present a totally fresh take on the sport and lifestyle.

Address

Address

A thoughtful, almost academic take on fashion, Address is dedicated to the stories behind the clothes we wear.

Amuseum

Amuseum

A playful new magazine that uses objects to explore our world, Amuseum is a cabinet of curiosities containing everything from ancient time machines to elephant ivory dildos.

Anorak

Anorak

The happy magazine for kids, Anorak is a colourful way to spend a couple of hours, with or without a small person by your side. (Check out the very old video below – one of my first attempts at talking about a magazine on camera!)

Article

Article

British style with a strong emphasis on menswear, Article is every bit as polished as the clothes it features. And just take a look at that lovely stitched spine in the video below.

Benji Knewman

Benji-Knewman

Fantastically eccentric publishing from Latvia, presented in both English and Latvian, Benji Knewman is one of my favourite launches from last year. More people should read this magazine!

Berlin Quarterly

Berlin-Quarterly

For the team behind Berlin Quarterly, the German capital is more a state of mind than a place. Mixing poetry, photography, essays and fiction, the magazine takes a layered, nuanced approach to storytelling.

Boat

Boat

There are lots of independent travel magazines out there, but Boat is consistently one of the best. Heading off to a different city each issue, this biannual collaborates with locals to present a unique inside / outside view of a place.

Boneshaker

Boneshaker

The Bristol-based cycling magazine with a love for illustration, Boneshaker is a must-read for bike fans everywhere.

That’s a lot of excellent publishing, and we only got as far as B! Sign up to Sampler to make sure you don’t miss out on our awesome magazine offers
