Yesterday I posted my video review of Stand & Deliver, the new comedy magazine I first came across as a work in progress at one of my Guardian Masterclasses. I love seeing magazines before they hit the shelves, so today I’m very pleased to announce the final Guardian magazine publishing Masterclass dates for 2014.

We’ll be back at the Guardian’s headquarters in London from 25-26 October, with a packed schedule of speakers to give any magazine maker a helping hand, whether they’re already publishing or still figuring out the basics.

Simon Esterson and John L Walters from Eye will speak about the fundamentals of magazine publishing, covering everything from printing and production to marketing a title.

Danny Miller from Human After All will share his magazine publishing toolkit, building on his experience of launching Little White Lies almost 10 years ago, and more recently his new project Weapons of Reason.

Rob Orchard from Delayed Gratification will explain the importance of identifying a niche for a magazine and will help students to identify their own magazine’s niche appeal.

Esra Gokgoz will draw upon her experience as a content strategist to talk about the best ways to create a digital magazine, whether it’s an all-digital project or the online presence of a print title.

And I’ll present my guide to distributing magazines, and will be on hand for the whole weekend to help students get the most out of their time.

As always, the tickets are expensive but the class sizes are kept small (a maximum of 16 people) so if you’d like some help with making a magazine project happen this year, don’t miss out!
