Yesterday, we kicked off our cover countdown for this year. We gathered the three most popular magazine covers on our Instagram from January, and invited people to vote for their favourite — we’ll be doing it for the rest of the months, so think of it as a ’12 days of magazine covers’. In the past 24 hours, readers took to Twitter to vote for their favourite cover, and taking over by just two votes, our first winning cover is Bitchslap’s donut & banana!

The response that gripped us the most was from Joe Rampley, for a perceptive critique of Backwash magazine’s cover, and for spending time to fit it all in 140 characters. A year-long Stack subscription is yours! We’ll be in touch shortly to set it all up for you.

If you missed out yesterday, don’t sweat it, because today’s voting has just begun. Browse the three great covers from February and tweet us your choice of the winner — remember, the weirder/funnier/more heartfelt the comment, the better your chance of winning…(p.s., screenshotting from the notepad app is a way around the 140 character limit.)

I'm fully in awe of @the_gentlewoman, so this week's video review really couldn't have been anything else. Head over to the Stack blog this morning to see me getting excited about crotches, Kirsten and griddy openers – the essential ingredients of this latest issue…

Check out those brass rivets on the binding! Metazine is made by @raw_print in Nottingham and is a lovely riso printed volume of interviews with independent publishers. You can take a look inside via our review video on the Stack blog today, and watch out later for our next post on another magazine about magazines…

New York-based @driftmag explores coffee culture one city at a time. For their third issue they travelled to Havana and filled their pages with stories of coffee rationing, Cuban culture and mixing beans with chickpeas. Check the Stack blog today to see editor Adam Goldberg sharing his insights into the making of the issue…
